Located on the first floor, (up a flight of steps), the Tulbagh Travellers Lodge offers guests spacious accommodation in clean, well-decorated bright and sunny rooms. For your convenience and pleasure, there is a large open-plan communal kitchen and lounge with sofas, satellite TV and CD/MP3 Player, as well as cards, board games and free wireless internet access.
The kitchen is equipped as self catering with a hot plate, fridge, microwave and all the other essentials. Tea, coffee, sugar and other basics are provided free of charge.
Our comfortable spring mattresses are complemented by good quality linen and bedding, which is changed according to the season. All linen is provided as to are both bath and pool towels.
A light continental breakfast is served either in the kitchen upstairs or at the pool lapa. The continental breakfast consists of filter coffee, toast, cereals and fruit. For a R50 supplement, you can enjoy our famous 3-course breakfast in the grand dining room at the manor house. Please make arrangements on arrival.
Laze the day away at the Quarter's swimming pool or catch a tan on the roof terrace before enjoying a sundowner, while watching Tulbagh's Witzenburg Mountain range turn from pink to purple.
Rooms
ROOM 1 - TRIPLE ROOM
This spacious room consists of two single beds and a large single day-bed, sleeping a maximum of 3. The room sports an original 1930’s Deco dressing table and cupboard with both shelf and hanging space. A heater and fan are also provided, as to are mosquito nets; so essential in the summer months.
The en-suite shower room/toilet and vanity has a private balcony with views over Church Street and the garden.
ROOM 2 - DOUBLE ROOM
This double room has an original 1940’s bed-set with matching dressing table and wardrobe. A heater, fan and mosquito net in summer are all provided. The spacious ensuite bathroom features an original extra length enamel bath and over-the-top Deco lighting.

ROOM 3 - DOUBLE/TRIPLE ROOM
This large double room has an extra fold-a-way bed, so can accommodate up to 3 people. The retro 1950s bed is a classic and has a funky dressing table to match. The built in cupboard has both hanging and packing space. A heater, fan and mosquito net are all provided.
ROOM 4 - TWIN/TRIPLE ROOM
This twin room features two 1950’s ‘Ball and Claw’ single bed-sets and postupedic mattresses. The funky retro ’70 wardrobe is only outdone by the outlandish dressing table and lighting.
The private (not ensuite), bathroom is across the passage and has a large walk in shower and separate toilet cubicle. The black and white check theme is a classic, as to are the funky dressing table and period lighting.

SWIMMING POOL
Our beautiful neo-classically inspired swimming pool is a life saver after a hot summer's dayThe pool lapa/covered pool terrace seats 12 comfortably and features large day beds, relaxing sofas and thick padded upholstery.
Equipped with a book and a glass of wine, it's tempting to spend the entire day there. The braai/BBQ is beautifully built out of local stone and may be used freely by guests.
COURTYARD AND GARDEN
Beautiful gardens lead through to shady courtyard spaces and calm sitting areas. Inspired by a dry river bed, our back garden is planted with Buchu, Restio and other indigenous plants. The garden is a haven for birds and attracts over 15 species, including the Cape Hummingbird and Cape Robin.
ROOF TERRACE
Enjoy our sunny roof terrace, providing spectacular 360° views of the valley over the thatch roofs of Tulbagh and the mountains and valleys beyond.
INTERNET AND OFFICE FACILITIES
Our accommodation offers free Wi-Fi and full office facilities (lap-top, fax, copy, scan, phone), all available for our guests and business travellers.
